DrCloudEHR integrates with the Rcopia e-Prescribing (eRx) system from DrFirst to enable you to electronically prescribe medication for a patient.

Contact the DrCloudEHR support team to register to use Rcopia. You also need the support team's assistance to create DrCloudEHR users in Rcopia.

This topic contains the following sections:

Track Current Medications

You can use the Rcopia interface to track all of the medications a patient is currently taking, including those not prescribed through the system. Rcopia uses the list of current medications to check for harmful interactions with any new medications you prescribe.

  1. Click the Patients tab, and then search for the patient for whom you want to prescribe medications.
  2. Click Edit under the Medications section on the right side of the Patient Summary Chart page. The Rcopia interface opens.
  3. Click Manage Medications in Rcopia.
  4. Select the provider name.
  5. Enter the medication details, including the Drug Sig (Signatura) instructions indicating how the patient should use the medication. The diagnosis codes you select for Primary Dx and Secondary Dx are retrieved from the DrCloudEHR database.
  6.  Rcopia updates DrCloudEHR with the medication details.

List Manually Generated Prescriptions

You can view list of legacy prescriptions entered in DrCloudEHR before the user started using DrFirst to order prescriptions electronically.

  1. Click the Patients tab, and then search for the patient for whom you want to prescribe medications.
  2. Click Edit under the Prescriptions section on the right side of the Patient Summary Chart page. The Rcopia interface opens.
  3. Click the List button. The list of legacy prescriptions displays.

Submit a Prescription Electronically

You can create a new prescription and send it directly to a pharmacy through the Rcopia interface.

Rcopia alerts you if meds prescribed might not be appropriate given patient's info.

  6. Enter the medication details, including the Drug Sig (Signatura) instructions indicating how the patient should use the medication. The diagnosis codes you select for Primary Dx and Secondary Dx are retrieved from the DrCloudEHR database.
