DrCloudEHR integrates with ChartMeds to provide you with an electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR) feature. You typically use ChartMeds in a residential facility. If the facility has an in-house pharmacy, you can use ChartMeds to order medications.

For detailed information on using ChartMeds, see the company's documentation. Contact DrCloudEHR Sales to add this feature to your site.

Synchronizing Prescription and Medication Data to the ChartMeds MAR

Use the sync operation to add prescriptions ordered from external pharmacies using DrFirst Rcopia, as well as medications recorded for a facility or program in the DrCloudEHR EMAR, to the ChartMeds MAR. The MAR already contains medications ordered through ChartMeds from an in-house pharmacy.

After the sync operation completes, a new prescription is automatically added to the MAR as a pending medication awaiting prescriber approval.

  1. Click the Patients tab.
  2. Click the EMAR tab in the left navigation bar.
  3. Select the program or facility the patient is a resident of.
  4. Click the Sync button.

Review and Approve Medications as a Prescriber

As a prescriber, you must review and approve new medications to administer to the patient in the ChartMeds MAR, including medications ordered through DrFirst Rcopia that have been added to the MAR.

  1. Click the Patients tab and search for the patient.
  2. In the Summary Chart page for the patient, mouse over the Clinical tab at the top of the page, and then select EMAR V2. A page displaying the Medication History for the patient opens.
  3. Click the Manage Orders button. The ChartMeds application opens within DrCloudEHR.
  4. Close the "72 hours check" window.
  5. Current  medication orders for the patient are shown on right. Click a medication in the list to review the administration details, including the dosage schedule.
  6. Click the yellow bar to approve the medication.
