DrCloudEHR provides a bidirectional interface with the ALERT Immunization Information System (IIS), which is used to track immunizations within the state of Oregon. With the interface, you can submit vaccination administration records for patients from DrCloudEHR to the ALERT IIS registry, and receive vaccination administration records for patients from ALERT.

When a record is received for a patient, DrCloudEHR uploads the data to the patient's record in DrCloudEHR. 

View Vaccine Submission Records Sent to ALERT IIS

A scheduled task runs daily to submit vaccination administration data for patients in DrCloudEHR. You can also optionally submit data on demand. Records are submitted in HL7 format.

You can view submission data based on the following criteria:

  • Date range
  • Patient name or ID
  • Submission status: Administered, Failed, or Success

To view record submission status:

  1. Click the Reports tab.
  2. Expand the ALERT IIS tab in the left navigation bar.
  3. Click the Submission Manager tab.
  4. Select the search criteria, and then click Search. 



  5. Click a link in the Status column to view submission details. You can also download the HL7 file submitted.

Receiving Vaccine Records from ALERT IIS

You can retrieve vaccination administration records for selected patients from ALERT IIS. Records are received in HL7 format in real time when you submit the request.

The application matches each vaccination record with the corresponding patient, and uploads the record to the patient's chart in DrCloudEHR. To view the immunization data for a patient, click the Registry Report button under Immunizations in the patient's chart page.

  1. Click the Reports tab.
  2. Expand the ALERT IIS tab in the left navigation bar.
  3. Click the Receive Manager tab.
  4. Select the patients you want to receive records for, and then click Submit. 



  5. Click a View link in the Report column to view the record received for a patient.
