Fields are where you enter information, or display data drawn from previous entries on forms or recorded elsewhere in the system. Fields are the functional core of every form.

Let’s explore the variety of Field types which are available for you to add to your Form. We’ll start with Basic Field Types and then continue through the list of all available Field Types.

For each Field Type, we’ll first show you how it appears in Form Builder Preview-mode, to help you understand the purpose of the Field from the point of view of a user of the Form. We will then show you the Field in Form Builder Edit-mode, to show you how the Field can be configured by the builder of the Form.

Basic Field Types

The following are the Basic Field Types:

Text

Allows user to enter free text.

Three sizes of this field are available.

The Date field can also be configured to automatically display the Current Date.

User can expand the displayed Text Area field by clicking and dragging on the lower right-hand corner of the field. When printing, all of the text entered by the user will appear in the printout, up to the 2000-character limit, regardless of the onscreen display.

The Text Area field is configured in Form Builder Edit-mode.
