The activity log alert Notify tier 1 of Azure Service Issues was triggered by a service issue for the Azure subscription DrCloudEMR2011.
TRACKING ID: 4VMJ-79G
TYPE: Incident
STATUS: Resolved
COMMUNICATION:
Summary of impact: Between 13:45 UTC - 14:05 UTC and 16:15 UTC - 16:35 UTC on 02 Aug 2021, a subset of customers who are connecting to Azure services via a third-party internet service provider (ISP) may have experienced latency, timeouts, and/or connectivity issues when attempting to connect to Azure services.
Preliminary root cause: A recent network configuration change caused connection traffic to flow into a single edge location. Due to the traffic moving into the single edge location requests to connect to Azure services underwent latency and timeouts.
Mitigation: We manually reverted the network configuration change which established successful connections to Azure services.
Next steps: We will continue to investigate to establish the full root cause and prevent future occurrences. Stay informed about Azure service issues by creating custom service health alerts: https://aka.ms/ash-videos for video tutorials and https://aka.ms/ash-alerts for how-to documentation.
